Clinical Studies about Shilajit Effect on Testosterone Level
Shilajit is often termed as the conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weaknesses. A large number of minerals and pro-health microbes are the reason behind such terminologies associated with Shilajit. Although the number of benefits associated with Shilajit is quite large, there are not many clinical studies available addressing all those benefits. However, few researchers have come up with experimental studies exploring the health benefits of Shilajit. Following the same approach, experiments were performed to know the effect of Shilajit on the testosterone level of men. Testosterone is a hormone produced in the human body. Testosterone is responsible for a healthy libido, maintaining body energy level, building muscle mass, and stimulation of sperms production in men. Lack of body energy, stamina, and mental aggressiveness are some of the symptoms of low level of testosterone. Other symptoms include aches and joint pains. Following are two clinical studies showing the effect of Shilajit on testosterone level.
In the first clinical study [1], sixty men were chosen with fertility issues. The selected males were having a sperm count of less than 20 million/mL. The enrolled males were given 100mg Shilajit dosage twice a day for a period of 90 days. A considerable increase in testosterone level was observed after 90 days, proving the positive effect of Shilajit on testosterone level in men.
In another clinical study [2], healthy males between the age of 45 and 55 were given a 250mg dosage of Shilajit twice a day for a period of 90 days. The effect of Shilajit was observed after 30, 60, and 90 days respectively. After 30 days, 6.82% increase in testosterone level was observed. After a period of 60 days, there was an increment of 3.09% percent in testosterone level. The highest change in testosterone level was observed after a period of 90 days. After 90 days, 20.45% increment in testosterone level was observed.
The above clinical studies show the significance of Shilajit on testosterone level in males. It is important to note here that only pure and authentic Shilajit has the tendency to improve the testosterone level in males. A bad quality Shilajit can act negatively in the body. Therefore, it is highly recommended using only authentic Shilajit having neutral endorsements like genuine lab reports and Amazon customers’ reviews.
